Scott Walker has died aged 76.

Many people may not realise that he was one of the most innovative musicians of the 20th century, a musician's musician highly respected by Bowie, Thom Yorke and many more.

My favourite song by him is the electrician... weird song but powerful. First heard it from the film Bronson..

Tbh, I'm really surprised how popular he was, and the coverage he's got - shame he didn't know. I started the thread thinking no-one would be interested.

I agree.. didn't really like his early stuff, sounded like theme tunes from western films :ooer:

But no denying his voice was fantastic.

I hadn't really thought of listening to him until I saw a TV documentary with some bloke punching a side of beef.

His best work is difficult stuff for most people but I think he's worth making the effort.
