There was a guy on youtube who showed genuine newspapers from the early 1900's up to the start of WW2 and there were numerous claims of 6 million Jews being moved, harassed or some other form of harm/in danger from different years and in different papers. It was fascinating to watch him go though these old papers (from a library?) and reading the articles claiming 6 million each time. Can't find it now but it wasn't that long ago. North East or maybe Irish guy, quite strong accent.

According to halakha, a Jew by birth must be born to a Jewish mother. There were 3,000,000 Jews in Poland prior to WW2, real Jews.

Sorry Art but those figures are ridiculous.
The Jews had been living in Europe for two thousand years and you think the population was that of a small town!
When the Jews were driven out of Israel two thousand years ago they numbered about 9 million and that 9 million headed for Europe.
There was already at that time large Jewish populations in Spain and Italy.
They had also settled in many parts of eastern Europe.
Where on earth you get a figure for a very small town after thousands of years in Europe is beyond me.
Did you know there were large Jewish populations across India and China back then too?

Being Jewish is belonging to the Jewish faith or religion and nothing more.
At one time it could be claimed to be those descended from Abraham but when the temple was destroyed two thousand years ago all historical and genealogical records were destroyed too.
The reason the Jews from all over the known world .... China Afghanistan India Rome Spain France Ireland England everywhere headed there once a year was to pay temple taxes and update their genealogical records ..... all of which were destroyed when a stone was not left upon a stone and the Roman army took all the treasures. There is an arch to this day standing in Italy to commemorate the event.
The destruction of these records mean no man can show he is from the lineage of Abraham or even Jesus.
If you can't show such lineage then it is nothing more than a religion.

The problem here is that Jews are still gonna suffer at the hands of antisemitism whether or not they 'self-identify' as Jewish. The reason the Jewish community developed such a close-knit, cultural community was precisely one of self-protection and self preservation.

We get the same problem when liberals say "I dont see colour", or, "we should stop talking about race", try telling that to the black people suffering at the hands of racial injustice and inequality.
