Anyway each to their own :)

I actually admire these people for the stance they take, but for what? :dunno:

I take it all these vegetarians/vegans don’t possess anything leather either?..... or is it just eating the animal that repulses them?

In neither so wouldn't know ...

Ok... so maybe a question for Bessie to answer then!..... anything leather in your household?

Probably! I only became veggie at the end of last year so I'm still learning. I avoid whenever possible using anything an animal has had to suffer for but some things are impossible, such as my medication which contains gelatine. There isn't an alternative and I can't stop taking the tablets. Other than that, I don't buy products that have come from animals if there is an alternative unless I absolutely have no choice.

I like the taste of some meat but I don't like the idea of an animal dying just to satisfy my taste buds when there is an alternative, plant based product that tastes just as good.

I'm not a militant vegetarian. I've never dictated to anyone, preached to anyone or criticised anyone for their meat eating choices. We al make our own choices.

By the way, try Quorn Southern Fried Burgers - absolutely delicious and way superior to Linda MacCartney's.

Fair enough

Chicken biryani, first time I’ve ever made it. And Bread and butter pudding, using mixed berries instead of raisins.

I make orange bread and butter pudding, it's lovely if you like citrus

no fruit but every slice of bread gets spread with marmalade (I usually use brioche)

I've been known to put choc chunks in too :ooer:

Gammon, chips and peas. Cue the Brexit references.

Might chuck a pineapple ring or an egg on there too, definitely not both.

I normally hate vegetarian/ vegan food and give it a wide berth.
But M&s are doing a nice line in them, currently.
Mozarello & tomato tartlets among them. Gorgeous!!
Their chefs really understand how to use garden herbs.

Chocolate and orange is a good combo, I may try that next week. The whole clan came for last nights dinner, not a morsel of the pudding left. And I made it from leftover burger buns, very nice.

Is it orange zest or do you use the juice? I only used lemon zest in mine.

I spread the brioche with marmalade and add zest to the custard (if I have an orange knocking about)

I need to make it now

This should be renamed ‘the cravings thread.’

Staying away from marmalade toast today though with some help from some cashews.

I need ideas for a suitable dessert following a creamy chicken/mushroom dish with broccoli and pasta shapes.... preferably a hot one..... as i’m doing a fresh fruit salad/cream/ice cream and some cake bites after a buffet style meal the following day! :again?:

I'm going to have a go at making cottage pie in the slow cooker. Making extra and freezing some for a quick meal. Also a curry in the slow cooker.

A fruit pie, maybe apple? Just buy puff pastry and lattice it on top. Ice cream or custard on the side.
