What a load of shit. They’re speaking the truth. If you got pissed over the Gillette advert SaturnV, that’s because you support what it was speaking against. If that 1 advert contributes to suicide, how the fuck are women not committing mass suicide considering the way they’ve been treated in the media?

Calm down. They aren’t speaking the truth at all. Even on a thread about male suicide and the issues men face posters like the above can’t help but bleat on about toxic masculinity or chirp up with but but women have these problems too. Hardly helpful.

The backlash against Gillette was predictable and deserved. It would be like making a tampon ad and filling it full of women abusers or false rape accusers or whatever else and expecting it to do well. It was divisive, ill advised and it’s hit them in the pocket.

Toxic masculinity is linked to male suicide. Ignoring this is making it worse. Do you actually care? Yes? Stop denying the link and actually try to help.

Toxic masculinity teaches men to never speak about feeling scared, depressed, worried etc. This leads to men refusing help. It leads to suicide.

It’s also nothing like rape accusations. False rape accusations are rare and have not impacted the world like toxic masculinity. It’s pervasive. It teaches men to keep silent, which is harmful to us. It teaches that femininity is weak, which is harmful to women. Toxic masculinity is absolutely nothing like false rape accusations, which are devestating, but have not helped to shape the world.

It’s people like you that are not helping men. You’re making it much worse, yet you claim to care. Stop putting your need to feel offended above the actual issues.

Once again, you’re ignoring context. It wasn’t just “but women have these problems too”. It was about narrowing down specifically what triggers men to attempt suicide, not men and women.

An advert about false rape accusations would be more comparable to an advert telling men not to rape, not an advert about toxic masculinity. Even then, rape is much more common, so it’s hardly the same. Men aren’t typically risking being accused by just walking alone at night.

Making up “toxic feminity” doesn’t help your point. Toxic masculinity is responsible for so many terrible things in the world. It encourages bullying, sexism and it hurts people. “Toxic femininity” isn’t a thing.

I can link to a site that embodies toxic masculinity right now, but I’ve never seen any that embodies toxic femininity. What is that anyway? Check out that body building site. It’s full of rape comments, women are just “sloots” and whores to them, pictures of beaten women are used as “fap” material and they encourage each other to commit suicide for not being perfect (“kill yourself brah” is something I’ve seen a lot). They even encouraged a boy to do it on camera once. He did. That’s toxic masculinity. It’s pretending that being sexist bullies is masculine, when it’s anything but. It’s men throughout history who have sidelined women and any man who doesn’t live up to their idea of masculinity.

Comparing that to made up toxic femininity is insulting and making things worse. Get over your fucking pride and stop pissing yourself with anger over people bringing it up. You’re just making yourself sound toxic.

And as the recent examples on the DS celeb Forum show an awful lot of the hateful toxicity towards women on DS is from women not men. It’s been going on as long as the forums been around.

It’s odd how people make out they care but huff and puff and get all upset and triggered when their own behaviour towards women is pointed out. They only care when it suits them.
