Hydrogen Production

UFOs, new tech, it all goes in here. Have you tried switching it off and back on ?

Hydrogen Production

That is Na (sodium) + H2O = NaOH (sodium hydroxide) + ½ H2 + 140 kJ/mole.

Sodium can be produced from the sodium hydroxide, via the Castner process:

Note that Castner also produces hydrogen.

The 140 kJ/mole offsets the energy required for Castner.

You basically have a cycle which only requires water. Sodium hydroxide does not react with iron. It uses less water than fracking and you later get the water back.

You can also get the metal simply distilling sea water... Salt...

Cheeper using electrolisis. Even cheeper using the new generation of Russian nuclear reactors. Hydrogen is a by product and renders plutonium safe.

Better than the old military munition production reactors.

The point about going via Castner is you get a cycle. The sodium is produced from sodium hydroxide. The sodium/water reaction then produces sodium hydroxide.

Also, no chlorine via Castner.

uses less water than fracking?--are we comparing chemical processes to mechanical processes now? kinda pointless

That was a kind of pointless pseudo post.

your mentioning of fracking when it has nothing to do with this was the issue

Fracking uses water. The hydrogen production described uses water. Are you certain that which uses less is not an issue?
The other issue is the fracking water is polluted.
